HEBRON -

This past weekend, Thayer Central High School and the city of Hebron commemorated the 25th anniversary of the CHB boys basketball team that won the 2000 Nebraska D1 boys state title.

Many of the members of that Chester - Hubbell - Byron boys team were in attendance, watching a rebroadcast of the title game, and walking out to an ovation at halftime of the Thayer Central boys game. A few of them still call southeast Nebraska home.

Bringing history to the present, the Thayer Central cheerleaders all wore CHB branded gear, and the Titan boys wore throwback uniforms and celebrated a win over Deshler with some of their local basketball forefathers.
