BEATRICE – It was good while it lasted.  A couple of days in the 40s or around 50 will be replaced by a shot of frigid air, into the coming week.

The National Weather Service notes that after readings in the 40s Friday, Arctic air rolls in over the weekend, dropping daytime high temperatures into the teens, Sunday.

Wind chill readings across the eastern third of Nebraska will fall to 10 to 28-below zero by Sunday morning.

By Tuesday morning, wind chills will check in at minus-14 to minus-30 in the eastern part of the state.

Daytime highs Sunday through Tuesday will struggle to make it out of the teens, before a warmup will send temperatures into the 30s by Wednesday.
