Envision Landscapes holiday lights continue to grow as Beatrice town tradition
BEATRICE, Neb. - ’Twas the days before Christmas, and all through the town, lights glimmered on houses and buildings, all around.
Envision Landscapes' holiday lights continue to grow in Beatrice and become a yearly town tradition.
“A couple years ago before we started it, the town looked pretty dark at night,” Alex Exkhoff, Owner of Envision Landscapes, said. “Now anywhere you go or any block you go down, you see Christmas lights.”
Envision Landscapes began lighting up the southeast Nebraska town six years ago. Envision began with 50 clients in 2018 and has grown to 314 in 2024. Businesses and homes now glimmer with holiday cheer. Something Eckhoff hopes to continue to bolster the community.
“A lot of people go up to Lincoln and go to their light shows and stuff like that, but our goal for Beatrice is to have something like that here,” Eckhoff said. “That way people don’t have to travel. We can keep it home and keep it local.”
Envision has also lit up Charles Park with candy cane lane and decorated a large pine tree in the parks center. As Envision’s lights continue to become a town staple at the Holliday season, it’s a feeling th takes Eckhoff back to his childhood.
“It’s kind of a dream,” Eckhoff said. “It was a vision I had growing up. I remember going around looking at Christmas lights with mom and dad and grandma and grandpa. There’s people that don’t even use us, which is fine, but it’s great to see they’re taking the time to make the perfection.”
