With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mary M. Haecker on December 21, 2024, a loving and thoughtful wife, mother and friend to all whose lives she touched. Born on June 20, 1945 in Marysville, Kansas, Mary spent the majority of her life in Beatrice, Nebraska, where she made a warm and loving home for her family. Mary married Le Roy Haecker in Beatrice on June 19, 1971.

Mary was a vibrant woman who enjoyed simple pleasures; gardening, sewing, needlepoint, and cross-stitch were among her favorite pastimes.  Mary also enjoyed primitive camping, canoeing, and shooting black powder rifles and pistols. She held the Nebraska State Championship Shoot for 3 consecutive years in the women's division. A graduate of Wymore Southern High School in 1963, Mary was involved in her community, attending Christ Community Church in Beatrice and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Mary is survived by her husband, Le Roy Haecker; her children, Michelle (Wheelock) (Pat) Milke of Adams, Gene (Patsy) Wheelock of Sprague, Sandra (Haecker) (Jim) Lloyd of Lincoln, and Tamara (Haecker) (William) Buchli of Fairbury; 10 grandchildren Megan (Greg) Kritenbrink, Elizabeth (Zachary) Kucera, Cody (Laura) Wheelock, Dillon (Stephanie) Wheelock, Nick (Kacey Holoryd) Janssen, Tara (Ferrell Butler) Lloyd, Macy Lloyd, Tanner (Lexi Best) Lloyd, Jacob (Sami) Buchli, and Adam Buchli; and 13 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Caroline (Grauer) Graham; her sister, Bette Perry; and her grandson, Nathan Milke.

The family will greet friends on Thursday, December 26, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel, located at 708 North 6th Street, Beatrice, Nebraska, where the public visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00-8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at the same location on Friday, December 27, at 10:30AM, and will be live-streamed at www.ghchapel.com. Interment will be at the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. A memorial has been established to the family's choice for future designation with the funeral home in charge.
