Doane's Lendt, Midland's Schramm named GPAC Wrestlers of the Week
Southeast Nebraska was well represented in this week's GPAC Wrestler of the Week awards: one winner used to compete for a high school in the area, and the other currently competes for a college in the area. Doane's Nate Lendt and Midland's Makenna Schramm were named the GPAC Wrestlers of the Week for the week of December 9-15, the conference announced this week.

MEN
Nate Lendt, Doane University – 149lb Weight Class
Doane University wrestler Nate Lendt is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men's Wrestler-of-the-Week. Lendt, a senior from Des Moines, Iowa, brought momentum back on the Tigers' side in their dual with Concordia on Friday with his 15-0 tech fall win over NAIA No. 22 Steven Barnes. Lendt took the mat after the Bulldogs won their first match of the night and made quick work of his nationally ranked opponent, winning in 2:25. The Tigers would go on to win the rest of the matches as they posted a 46-3 win, their most team points ever against Concordia.
Lendt continues an impressive run of form for his team, both in their dual matches and in the greater scope of the GPAC. The Doane men have dominated all four of their duals against conference foes, and Doane wrestling - men and women - have now combined to win at least one GPAC weekly wrestling award in five of the six weeks the honor has been bestowed.
WOMEN
Makena Schramm, Midland University – 145lb Weight Class
Midland University wrestler Makena Schramm is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Wrestler-of-the-Week. Schramm, a sophomore from Fairbury, Nebraska, won the consolation championship in the 145 "B" bracket at the North Central Women's Invite over the weekend. She did so with three wins by fall and a technical fall.
The former Fairbury Jeff turned in a strong weekend at the North Central Open in Illinois last week, winning a total of five matches, including four in a row, to wrestle back and win the consolation championship in her section of the bracket.
