BEATRICE – Beatrice Police investigated a dog bite incident that happened on Sunday.

Director of Police Jay Murphy says it happened at an apartment complex at 1800 East Scott Street shortly after 4 p.m.  Murphy says a 27-year-old man was bitten on the arm by a pit bull-mix dog….as the dog was being walked by the child of the owner.

Murphy says as they passed each other, the dog jumped up and bit the man on the arm.  The victim suffered puncture wounds from the incident.

The animal was impounded at the Beatrice Humane Society for a ten-day period, as required in Beatrice City Ordinance.

The dog can be quarantined at home if the owner shows proof that the pit bull is current on rabies vaccination.
