Polls open for Election Day 2024 in Fairbury’s four wards
Polls are open from 8 AM to 8 PM on Tuesday, November 5 at four polling places across Fairbury for Election Day 2024
FAIRBURY, Neb. - Voters of all ages began to trickle into Fairbury’s four polling places in the early stages of Tuesday’s Election Day.
Even in a small town of a few thousand, Fairbury operates a polling place for each of its four wards:
The 4-H Building at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds for Ward 1, as well as the local communities of Buckley, Antelope and Endicott
The Community Building in the City Park for Ward 2
Grace Lutheran Church on G Street for Ward 3
And American Lutheran Church on 12th and K for Ward 4
While not many people were out and about in the late morning hours on Tuesday, that’s expected to change as the day progresses: the Nebraska Secretary of State’s office is predicting that three out of every four registered voters in the state will turn in a ballot this year.
And that includes early voting, which has been a big subplot in this year’s election cycle – and that’s true in this part of the state as well.
Jefferson County officials reported Monday afternoon that they had already received approximately 750 early ballots from across the county – a number that beats out the previously recorded high by more than a hundred.
Ballots are open until 8 p.m. CT Tuesday, and then results will begin to be reported across the state and across the country.
