Main Street Beatrice puts on Night of the Great Pumpkin
By News Channel NebraskaBEATRICE – A southeast Nebraska business organization held an annual season event Thursday night.
It was the Night of the Great Pumpkin, in downtown Beatrice….an event put on by Main Street Beatrice. Parents and grandparents bring kids to the downtown for some safe trick-or-treating, between five and seven p.m.
Businesses handed out candy and other treats and kids were able to select a pumpkin from a batch of gourds placed on Court Street. Kids, and often the parents, are in costumes to get in the spirit of Halloween.
The City of Beatrice and Gage County had equipment displays, public safety officials and other staff on hand, to pass out goodies.
Court Street is closed off to traffic for a four-block stretch, during the Night of the Great Pumpkin.
