BEATRICE – County and city officers have arrested a suspect following a Gage County Sheriff’s Office investigation into alleged distribution of methamphetamine in Beatrice.

39-year-old Troy Peirce of Beatrice was arrested last Friday, after authorities had been granted an arrest warrant for Peirce on suspicion of possession with intent to distribute 28 to 139 grams of methamphetamine.

On October 11th, a Beatrice Police officer attempted to contact Peirce in a vehicle near 7th and Irving Streets, but he fled on foot and police pursued him.  Peirce was taken into custody near 8th and Jackson...about two blocks away.

During the foot pursuit, Peirce was observed discarding an item from his pocket.  A police officer tracing the path of the pursuit located a small plastic baggie of a white crystal substance.

Peirce was taken to the Gage County Jail, on additional charges of drug possession, tampering with evidence and obstructing a police officer.
