Kim Allen Umphenour, born on August 27, 1960, in Lincoln, NE, passed on September 29, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A humble and loyal soul, Kim spent most of his life in Beatrice, Nebraska. He married LeAnn Gronenthal on June 10, 1983. Dedicated and thoughtful, he was known for his service in the grocery business at Umphenours in Beatrice and owned and operated K&L Market in DeWitt. Kim also had worked for Farmland and Goossen's before retiring from TMK in Odell. His hobbies encapsulated his love for the outdoors and his nurturing spirit. An avid hunter, fisher, golfer, and trap shooter, Kim also had a knack for fixing things and lending a helping hand whenever needed. Kim was known for is fun and straight forward personality. As a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, his faith was of significant importance to him. However, what mattered most to Kim was his family, whose events he attended religiously.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Mary (Frouge) Umphenour, his grandson, Madden Mays, and parents in law Angie & Leander Gronenthal. As the Irish proverb says, "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal." Kim's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him.
