Contractor ahead of schedule, on 33rd and Lincoln work in Beatrice

BEATRICE – Beatrice public works officials announced Wednesday that completion of the street work around 33rd and Lincoln near the new elementary school is on track to be finished two months ahead of schedule.
BPW General Manager Tobias Tempelmeyer says the contractor expects to finish the roundabout at 33rd and Lincoln and a stretch of 33rd Street south of there, by the first week of October.
The original expected completion was around the Christmas holiday.
One the work is completed, access to both the east and north sides of the new pre-K to fifth grade building would be open, utilizing 33rd Street. The final stretch of Lincoln Street work remaining, would be west of Christ Community Church.

One correction on a projected time frame for a major bridge project has been announced. A reconstruction of the West Court Street bridge over the Big Blue River….a State of Nebraska project….was initially listed as 2026…..but is projected for 2029, instead.
