Marjorie Mae (Dissmeyer) Thomsen, age 96 of Wymore passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice.
Marjorie Mae (Dissmeyer) Thomsen, age 96 of Wymore passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on June 18, 1928 in Beatrice to Rienhart and Margaret (Baumfalk) Dissmeyer. She was baptized on July 3, 1928 and confirmed on April 23, 1943 at the American Lutheran Church of Filley. On August 24, 1947, Marj married Harold L. Thomsen. They lived and worked in Beatrice for 3 years. They started farming southeast of Ellis in 1950, moved north of Beatrice in 1955, and south of Wymore in '65 until they moved into Wymore in 1973. She helped with farming and aerial spraying business from 1975 to 2003. Marj drove school bus for the Southern School District from 1971 to 1993. She was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Wymore serving on the church council and past president, secretary, and treasurer of W.E.L.C.A. She enjoyed seeing her grandkids and great grandkids, sewing, dancing, playing pitch, and traveling.
Marj is survived by her children, Larain "Bud" (Jane) Thomsen of Omaha, Wayne (Luann) Thomsen of Waterville, Kansas and Diane Wells of Odell; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Roger) Rahl, Harold (Jill) Thomsen, April Thomsen, Justin Thomsen, Gloria Thomsen, Julie (Juan) Ramirez, and Kevin Wells (significant other Lisa Vitagliano); great grandchildren, Christa Rahl, Spencer Rahl, Brock Rahl, Grace Thomsen, Parker Thomsen, Brandon Keylon, Vennessa Thomsen, Dalton Thomsen, Hannah Thomsen, Megan Sousa, Jacoby Mullins, Jacqueline Mullins, Jasmine Thomsen, Juslynne Thomsen, Hudsyn Ramirez, Alayna Wells, Livian Wells, Skylar Wells, and Isla Spain; several nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; parents-in-law, John and Marie Thomsen; sister, Marie Samuelson and her husbands, Eugene Wheelock and Myron Samuelson; son-in-law, Pat Wells; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Wymore with Reverend Kramer officiating. Burial will be at the Blue Springs Cemetery. There will be no visitation but the body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church with Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in charge.
