BEATRICE – County law officers responding to a report of shots fired in Wymore found a man dead….but do not suspect foul play.

Gage County deputies Monday morning just after 7:30, were sent to a home in the 300-block of North 7th in Wymore, after a report of shots being fired from one of the apartments there.

Deputies and an off-duty Wymore Police officer responded and observed bullet holes in a bedroom window and a carport, south of the apartment building.

Occupants of apartments in the same building were evacuated from the scene.  After getting no response from the suspect apartment, deputies went inside the apartment and found a 67-year-old male, dead in the bedroom from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

No foul play is suspected and no one else was injured.
