CRETE, NEB. - All seven victims of a southeast Nebraska shooting have been released from the hospital, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
The Nebraska State Patrol said 74-year-old Billy Booth opened fire with a shot gun from his home in Crete, injuring seven people ranging in age from three to 43-years-old. The last three patients are now home from the hospital.
Troopers found Booth dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
NSP says investigations of the shooting being a hate crime are continuing. While Booth and family did not speak directly prior to the shooting, they had a history. Police had taken a report that Booth had yelled at the family who lived there to “go home” and to “speak English.”
NSP said the family did not press charges for that incident.
