BEATRICE – Distribution of drugs has landed a woman in state prison.  36-year-old Felicia Ramirez of Beatrice has been sentenced to 4-to-6 years in state prison after being convicted of three charges…distribution of methamphetamine, possession of meth and criminal possession of a financial transaction device.  She was sentenced Wednesday by Gage County District Judge Rick Schreiner.

Ramirez was given credit off her prison time for 93 days spent in jail.  Her arrest followed a March, 2021 law enforcement search of an apartment along North 6th in Beatrice….where authorities located syringes, drug paraphernalia with drug residue, several unused plastic baggies, a credit card and a notebook with a suspected drug ledger including names and numbers.

Also in district court. 20-year-old Austin Rhoden of Beatrice was sentenced for 3rd degree sexual assault of a child and committing intentional child abuse.   He’s been ordered to serve 3 years in state prison….getting credit off the sentence for 437 days spent in custody.

Rhoden was ordered to serve 18 months of post-release supervision and must register as a convicted sex offender.  He initially faced a first-degree sexual assault of a child allegation for an August, 2023 incident with a 14-year-old minor.

Wednesday in District Court, a Blue Springs man was ordered to serve a year on probation for a drug conviction.  42-year-old Derrie Seeman was sentenced or attempted possession of cocaine.  The arrest and charge followed the December, 2021 warrant search of a home in Liberty, Nebraska…authorized as law officers were looking for weapons and ammunition.

Judge Schreiner also resentenced 34-year-old Nickolas Weidner, of Beatrice for not obeying terms of a prior two-year probation sentence given for drug possession.   Weidner now will serve two years in state prison and one-year of post-release supervision. He was given credit for 70 days spent in custody.  Weidner had been sentenced to probation in May of 2023.
