Betty (Foreman) Cacek, 85 years of age, of Lewiston was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at the Good Samaritan Society in Beatrice. She was born on November 7, 1938 in Filley to William and Thelma (Rawson) Foreman. Betty attended school in Filley and graduated from high school in the spring of 1956. She attended Peru State College to receive her bachelor’s degree in education. Due to her teaching beginning in the fall of 1956, she attended summer school and night classes. Betty started teaching in rural schools before moving to Heppner, Oregon where she lived with her husband, Wayne and daughter, LaRita. She taught there in 1963 and 1964. Betty began teaching in Virginia, Nebraska after moving back to Lewiston in 1964. When the Virginia school closed, Betty began teaching at Lewiston Consolidated Schools in 1978. She received her master’s degree during the time she taught in Lewiston and retired in the spring of 2001. 

Betty is survived by her daughter, LaRita Sudik and husband Charlie of Virginia; sons, Kenneth Cacek and best friend Laurie Cameron of Summerfield, Kansas, Eugene Cacek and wife, Katrinka of Firth; three grandchildren, Garrett Cacek, Lane Cacek, Justin Cacek; two step-grandchildren, Dean Sudik and wife Heather, Diana Jacobsen and husband Mark; two brothers, Bob Foreman and wife Phyllis, Burt Foreman and wife Linda; sister-in-law, LaDonna (Cacek) Thomas; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; son, Tony Cacek; sister, Bernice Koller and husband LeRoy; niece, Jody Koller; brother, Charlie Foreman; two infant siblings; parents-in-law, Eugene and Wilma (Goracke) Cacek; brother-in-law, Gaylord Thomas; and nephew, Brett Thomas.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 31, 2024 at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice with Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice in care of the mortuary. Condolences may be left online at www.harmanwrightmortuary.com.
