Pawnee City voters reauthorize sales tax, economic development program
Two-part issue passes by wide margin
BEATRICE – Pawnee City voters solidly backed renewal of a local sales tax and a related economic development plan, in Tuesday’s Nebraska Primary election.
Pawnee City residents voted to extend the city’s two-percent local sales tax, by a vote of 168-to-48. Voters also approved extending the community’s economic development program for a period of 16-years.....by a vote of 164-to-47.
The plan is funded with three-quarters of a percent of the local sales tax.
