Jefferson County employee arrested for sexual assault of a child

An employee of the Jefferson County Jail was arrested on Thursday for sexual assault of a child.

FAIRBURY, Neb. -- An employee of the Jefferson County Jail was arrested on Thursday for sexual assault of a child. 

On May 2, 40-year-old Brandon Myers of Fairbury was arrested on three charges: third degree assault, third degree sexual assault of a child, and child abuse. 

The investigation began in April, when the Nebraska State Patrol received a report of a sexual assault of a child. After the investigation, the arrest was made.

After further investigation, 44-year-old Bobbi Myers, Brandon Myers’ spouse, was arrested on May 13 for child abuse and failure to report child abuse. 

Bobbi Myers was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail with Brandon being lodged in the Thayer County Jail, due to his employment at the Jefferson County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing with further details being withheld at this time to protect the victim.
