BEATRICE – Nebraska State Patrol officers have arrested a suspect, following a standoff in Milford.

At about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, NSP was notified by the Milford Police Department of an armed subject who had barricaded himself inside his home. The situation started after the subject reportedly pointed a firearm at officers while they conducted a welfare check in the 700 block of 5th Street in Milford.

NSP Crisis Negotiators responded and a State Patrol SWAT Team was activated.

A warrant was issued for 22-year-old Ethan Foster. After repeated attempts to communicate with him, troopers utilized an interior drone to determine his location inside the house. They found that Foster was still in possession of a firearm.

At around 2:30 a.m. Thursday, SWAT troopers made entry and took Foster into custody. Authorities say he was combative and resisted by kicking and attempting to strike troopers. Foster was lodged in Seward County Jail.

The Milford Police Department and Seward County Sheriff’s Office assisted in this arrest.
