BEATRICE, NEB. - It’s a day of giving back to the community for a southeast Nebraska based company.

Exmark Manufacturing presented three brand new mowers to local Gage County nonprofits.

“We do this once a year, and our team really gets excited about this,” Daryn Walters, President of Exmark, said. “It’s an exciting time for the business to give back to the community, and to find those places in need, where we know our equipment will really help them in a big way.”

Exmark President Daryn Walters tells NCN the initiative is fully funded by the Toro company. This years recipients were the Wymore American Legion, Liberty Cemetery, and One Property At A Time of Blue Springs. Noprofits were selected on a needs based basis.

“There’s a team at Toro who reviews all the applications, and we go to the ones with the biggest need,” Walters said. “Whether if it’s a cemetery or a youth ball field, these are huge needs-based communities for us locally.”

Exmark also announced a new green space enhancement, as well as their Big Rock project in which Exmakr will sponsor the gymnasium and a slide at the new consolidated middle school. They also presented the Beatrice Educational Foundation with a $25,000 check, something they’ve done since their 25th anniversary.

Manager Patty Kaufman says the idea came from brainstorming for a 25th celebration.

“The $25,000 is what we came up with, we accept applications, and that’s where those funds go,” Kaufman said. “We want to support our community every single year.”
