FAIRBURY, Neb. -- Riley Arner signed with Southeast Community College for wrestling on Tuesday.

This makes him the third Fairbury senior to sign with a college for athletics in the last week.

Arner started wrestling when he was three years old and has wrestled his entire life.

Arner said he knew he had something in wrestling since he first started.

He will leave Fairbury over the century mark in total wins and as a sixth place medal winner in the state tournament.

“Freshmen season came around,” Arner said. “There were lots of lows there because it’s definitely a different level from junior high to high school so I didn’t make state my first year which wasn’t fun. My sophomore season, I made it my first time. Didn’t medal. Junior year, made it again. Was a match away and my senior year, I finally got it done and got on the podium.”

Arner credits his coaches at Fairbury to where he is at in his wrestling career.
