FAIRBURY, Neb. -- Tickets are on sale for the Spring Salad Festival in Fairbury in early May.

Jefferson Community Health and Life is putting together the event set for May 9 at the Fairbury Elks Lodge.

The Salad Festival is a fund-raiser for the JCH&L Auxiliary which has been a community event since 1965, except for a break in 2020-22 because pf COVID precautions.

The salad festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with tickets being $9 in advance, or $10 at the door. Last year’s event raised more than $2,000 for the Auxiliary.

The Spring Salad Festival is the main fund-raising event of the auxiliary. The auxiliary provides scholarships to students entering medical fields, provides Christmas gifts for residents of the Gardenside long-term care at Jefferson Community Health and Life and provides volunteer help at JCH&L in a variety of projects.

Tickets are available at JCH&L, Fairbury Chamber of Commerce, Jefferson County Extension Office, American National Bank, Heartland Bank and Union Bank.
