Traffic stop leads to 20 pounds of cocaine found in York County

A New Jersey man was arrested in York County after 20 pounds of cocaine was found in a traffic stop.

YORK, Neb. -- A New Jersey man was arrested in York County after 20 pounds of cocaine was found in a traffic stop.

The Nebraska State Patrol said a trooper stopped a BMW X5 on Interstate 80 at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday for reportedly speeding. The traffic stop was done near Waco and the trooper was suspicious of criminal activity.

Officials said they searched the BMW and found 20 pounds of cocaine. The cocaine was reportedly hidden inside multiple secret compartments in the vehicle.

According to authorities, the driver was 40-year-old Pablo Suruy Hernandez, of New Jersey. He was lodged at the York County Jail for possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver.
