Kansas man arrested after pursuit, crash near Manhattan

BEATRICE – A Manhattan, Kansas man was jailed after a collision Friday, that followed a pursuit by deputies.

A  2020 Kia Forte driven by 58-year-old Mose Allen was eastbound on Kansas Highway 18 southwest of Manhattan, being pursued by Geary County deputies when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The car struck the right and left sides of a bridge wall, coming to rest in the center median.  

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports Allen was taken to Stormont Vail-Flint Hills health center in Junction City, Kansas, for treatment of a suspected minor injury.

Later, Allen was taken to the Geary County Jail, where he was booked for felony driving under the influence of alcohol, flight to avoid arrest, a misdemeanor insurance violation and several traffic infractions.

The incident occurrent at around 9:50 p.m., Friday.
