Two injured in Rockford Lake area accident, near Beatrice

Driver and passenger taken to a Lincoln hospital

BEATRICE - A one-car accident in rural Gage County resulted in injuries for the two occupants, Monday morning at about 7:30.


Gage County Sheriff's Deputies responding to the accident observed a 2015 Mini Cooper at the bottom of a creek on its top....near South 94th Road and Rockford Drive....six miles east of Beatrice.


The driver-39-year-old Christopher Bogus of Barneston and a six-year-old child were removed from the vehicle with the aid of Beatrice Fire and Rescue personnel.  Bogus told deputies he was traveling north when he swerved to avoid a deer. The car then left the road and entered the dtich, colliding with a creek embankment.


Bogus and the child were taken by Beatrice Fire and Rescue to Bryan West Health Center in Lincoln, for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials were investigating whether child had been properly restrained, during the accident.
