NSP says trooper is on mend, suspect has been charged with assault on officer
The Nebraska State Patrol says the trooper who was injured on Monday, following a pursuit, has started his recovery.

LINCOLN, Neb. -- The Nebraska State Patrol says the trooper who was injured on Monday, following a pursuit, has started his recovery.
The trooper was injured on Monday when a suspect rammed his patrol vehicle during a pursuit between Lincoln and Omaha.
The NSP reported that the trooper suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The trooper has been reported to have undergone a successful surgery.
NSP said the suspect as a 18-year-old from La Vista. He was not injured in the crash.
The 18-year-old refused medical treatment at the scene and was lodged in Lancaster County Jail for assault on an officer, assault on an officer using a motor vehicle, willful reckless driving and flight to avoid arrest.
