MARYSVILLE, Ks. -- Ten singers will duel Saturday to become Marshall County’s Ultimate Diva or Divo at the Dueling Divas and Divos event.

The event will take place at the Lee Dam Center for Fine Art in Marysville with the doors set to open at 6:45 p.m. The competition will begin at 7:30 p.m.

The event will be in the main room of the center with a stage, tables, candles and seating.

Wayne Kruse, the President of the Marshall County Arts Cooperative, says the event is a great competition but also great for fundraising.

“So Dueling Divas and Divos is one of the major fundraisers for the arts cooperative. We have ten divas and divos who are competing to be crowned the Ultimate Marshall County Diva or Divo and they do that by singing songs,” said Kruse. “So, 10 people will get on the stage and sing their most Diva or Divo song. So this event becomes really important to us financially, and we use the money to bring artists to our county and we also give grants to the different arts teachers throughout the county.”

Following the performances, there will be a live auction for VIP tables at the next arts cooperative’s fundraiser, “Let’s Get Physical at the Replay Lounge.”
