BEATRICE – It’s an old scam….tried many times before, but it popped up in the past couple of days in the Beatrice area.

Local police report a Beatrice citizen received a call from what appeared to be the Beatrice Police Department…with a male stating he worked for the department and was part of homeland security.

The person told the resident they were going to be shipped out of the country, unless they paid a fee.

Beatrice Police say don’t fall for the scam and don’t give up any personal information.  Beatrice Police if you receive a similar call, you should report it to the department or any local law enforcement agency.
