BEATRICE, Neb - As a show of gratitude to the community, Ashley Homestore is donating over $6,000 to two southeast Nebraska non-profits.

After Stan and Judy Meyer decided to sell the Beatrice Ashley Homestore, as a thank you the community, 100% of sales from Wednesday October 4 were donated to the Beatrice Home Crisis Center and the Community Food Pantry.

The Meyer's, along with store manager Jenny Swarthout, presented the organizations with a check for $6,305 on Friday afternoon. As the food pantry moved locations, director Angy Essam expressed her gratitude and discussed the importance of the donation.

"This money is going straight to fill our shelves... This year we moved locations and we have ample space, but the shelves look awful empty," Essam said. "We just had Big Give Gage, so between that, and this check, I think we're going to be able to fill our shelves up and therefore help the people in this community."

As for Cari Emerson and the Hope Crisis Center, funds will go straight to victim services.

"Stan and Ashley [furniture] have always been a big supporter of Hope Crisis Center," Emerson said. "Once we were notified we would receive some dollars, we were obviously very appreciative, and the money will go straight towards victim services."
