PICKRELL, Neb - Medica and News Channel Nebraska are encouraging good health and well-being across the state with Stretch Across Nebraska.  The program is set up for people of all ages to send in a video or photo of their healthy activity and they could win a donation made, in their name, of $500 to the school of their choice.

Pickrell native Kate Meints is the most recent winner.

Meints submitted a video of her kids running through the pivots shortly before the beginning of harvest. She says she submitted the video for the good of her local school.

"I saw there was an opportunity to win $500 for a local school and I submitted the video in the hopes I could win some money for the kids school," Meints said.

Meints selected her kids school, Freeman Public Schools in Adams, as her recipient.

"The school has a great athletic department, the teachers are wonderful, the coaches are great," Meints said. "It's important to me that Freeman has safe and healthy kids."

Freeman Public Schools Superintendent Andrew Havelka says the school district is very appreciative.

"We are very excited and thankful to the Meints family to receive the donation," Havelka said. "We will definitely find a way to use the donation to support good health and exercise.
