JEFFERSON COUNTY, Neb - One person was taken to the hospital after a tractor mowing on the side of the road collided with a vehicle.
According to Jefferson County Sheriff Nick Georgi, at about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, a Ford Bronco was driving east on PWF road, when a farm tractor mowing the ditch, driving westbound in the south ditch, drove onto the south lane to mow around a mail box.
Neither the driver of the tractor or Ford Bronco could recall the events that lead up to the crash, but it is believed that the Ford Bronco struck the tractor bucket that was elevated from the ground impacting the passenger side of the vehicle, rotating the car 180 degrees. The car came to a rest facing west.
The driver of the Ford Bronco, Beckett Chappel of Fairbury, was transported to the hospital to be evaluated. The driver of the tractor, Roger Blobaum, also of Fairbury, was uninjured.
