DeWitt Days set for this weekend, big list of events on tap
DEWITT, Neb - Yet another Southeast Nebraska summer festival is set for this weekend, and it comes in the Tri County area.
DeWitt Days kicks off Friday, lasting through Sunday. Committee member Glen Pieper talked more about the event.
“DeWitt Days is our time to show off our communities,” Pieper said. “It’s also a good time to have fun and raise money for the local organizations.”
DeWitt Days begins Friday with a poker run, before a long day of events kicks off Saturday, including a parade, fireworks, and a corn hole tournament. Sunday also has a few events. Pieper says he hopes the uniqueness of some of this years events, draws big crowds.
“If you’ve never seen the outhouse raises, you have to come out and see it,” Pieper said. “It’s an actual outhouse on wheels that goes around the bases on the ball diamond, with things and obstacles they have to do at each base.”
Pieper says, heading into the weekend, he’s most excited for new faces to to town.
“It’s a lot of fun to see the people, especially the ones who don’t come to DeWitt a lot, but they come into town for this,” Pieper said. “We just want people to come have fun and enjoy the weather, think it’ll be pretty nice.”
