Highway work near Tecumseh, Crete...to get underway
Resurfacing planned in Johnson County....maintenance work in Saline County
LINCOLN — Nebraska Department of Transportation officials say several southeast Nebraska road projects are set to get underway soon.
June 19th is the planned starting date on Nebraska Highway 50 south of Tecumseh, for about a 12-mile stretch. Constructors, Inc. of Lincoln will be doing concrete repairs, asphalt overlay, new guardrail, grading, culverts and bridge deck repairs.
Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers, with temporary traffic signals in place at bridge locations...and a 14-foot width restriction in effect. It's a long-term project. NDOT says the anticipated completion is the fall 2024.
Weather permitting, a chip seal maintenance project will begin June 21st on Nebraska Highway 33, west of Crete. That is about a nine-mile project with the work expected to take three days. One-lane traffic will be used in that zone.
NDOT says a chip seal project will also start June 22nd on L-76E, near Dorchester....which is about a mile long work zone. The project is anticipated to take one day.
