FAIRBURY, Neb --  The Fairbury Elks Lodge will once again be honoring it's first responders as a part of their annual Flag day celebration on Wednesday night.

Each year, leaders from the ambulance service, fire department and county sheriff’s office nominate and present awards to individuals for their service to the community.   The purpose of the Flag day service is to honor the banner of our country, to celebrate the anniversary of its birth, and recall the history of the American flag.

The Flag Day Celebration is open to the public.  Everyone of all ages is encouraged to attend and show appreciation and gratitude.  The program starts at 7PM at the Fairbury Elks Lodge on 525 G Street in downtown Fairbury.

Refreshments will be served following the program.
