Bike theft leads to arrest by Beatrice Police
Beatrice officers arrest a total of four people over the weekend
BEATRICE – Beatrice Police over the weekend arrested a 61-year-old male for theft and trespassing, in alleged connection with a stolen bicycle.
Officers investigated the theft of a black and green Schwinn bicycle valued at $400…from an owner along Market Street. The bike was noticed missing by the owner, Sunday morning.
Police had two previous encounters with a disruptive male on Sunday and both times, noticed he had a bicycle matching the description of the stolen bike. It was located in the driveway of the suspect’s home.
Robert Stefonovich had earlier been issued a trespass notice by a police officer last month, restricting him from being at the residence from where the bike was taken.
Stefonovich was arrested for theft and trespassing…and taken to the Gage County Jail.

Beatrice Police on Sunday also arrested 36-year-old Andrew White for driving under suspension and violation of a domestic violence protection order, following a traffic stop.
Early Saturday morning and early Sunday morning police also made arrests. 21-year-old Alex Rodriguez-Castro, of Beatrice and 20-year-old Saul Garcia, of Blue Springs were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, in separate incidents.
