Beatrice Firefighters answer two Memorial Day fire calls

BEATRICE – Beatrice firefighters were sent to a fire in the Gage County Industrial Park, on Memorial Day, according to Southeast Communications Dispatch Center traffic.

Firefighters extinguished a fire in several wooden pallets, outside Eco Energy in the seven-hundred block of Kinney Drive.

Department personnel were sent there at 5:23 p.m. and had the flames extinguished, in about fifteen minutes.   Firefighters turned the scene over to a company safety manager and left the area shortly after six p.m.

Earlier in the afternoon, fire personnel were sent to a small fire in a mulch pile, next to the Church of Latter Day Saints, along North 26^th Street.  That fire was also put out in about fifteen minutes…and building maintenance was summoned to check the inside of the church.  That call came in, at 1:43 p.m.
