BEATRICE – Street resurfacing work is underway in Beatrice.   Eleventh street between Lincoln and Monroe Streets…a distance of seven blocks….is the construction area.

Milling work began late last week, but Monday rain was putting a slight delay in the work. The street will get a new surface of asphalt, with the entire project taking up to two weeks to finish.  A Waverly company is doing the project.

Residents are being asked not to park along the street during construction, though local access to properties is still available.

Eleventh Street is along the east edge of what use to be the old Beatrice Community Hospital site…..now a newer residential area.

Monday also starts a traffic pattern change on a section of street, three blocks to the west.  Eighth Street is now a two-way street, rather than the one-way southbound in place for several years.   Motorists are urged to use caution as people get used to the new arrangement.
