COLUMBUS, NE — A former Norris basketball star is taking the next step in his college career.

After two years at Central Community College (CCC) in Columbus, Trey Deveaux is transferring to the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Deveaux makes the move as he graduates Friday from CCC with an associate of arts degree.

In his second and final season with the Raiders, Deveaux was named a first team All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). He started all 33 games for CCC in the 2022-23 season, leading the team with 18.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.

He also is a member of the NJCAA All-Region 9 team and the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference All-Conference team.

Deveaux's first season at CCC was cut short by injury, but he averaged 13.3 points per game while on the floor.

At Norris, Deveaux helped Norris to a pair of state tournament appearances and also earned all-state honors twice.
