Grade school students have 'Day on the farm' at Gage County Fairgrounds

Grade school students from southeast Nebraska all served as "farmers for a day" on Wednesday.

BEATRICE - Grade school students from southeast Nebraska all served as "farmers for a day" on Wednesday. 

The Gage County Fairgrounds held their 2023 Day on the Farm event at the Gage County Fairgrounds for the first time since the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly 200 students from five different schools attended the event, which lasted from 9:30-1:00 pm. Seven different stations were set up with the goal being to teach kids about farming and care for farm animals. 

Educators and area farmers attended to put on the event, teaching kids about the theme at each station.

Animals on display included a dairy calf, sheep, and red cattle.

-Tri County (DeWitt

-Paddock Lane (Beatrice)

-St. Joseph's (Beatrice)

-Stoddard (Beatrice) 

-St. Paul's (Beatrice)
