Frost advisory in place for parts of central, east Nebraska Saturday morning

FAIRBURY, NE — People in central and east Nebraska and some in northern Kansas are expecting to see unseasonably cold weather overnight into Saturday.
The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for several counties in Nebraska stretching a from the South Dakota to Kansas border and into Kansas. The advisory goes into effect at midnight Friday and expires at 8 a.m. Saturday morning.
Counties included in Nebraska are: Valley, Greeley, Nance, Sherman, Howard, Merrick, Polk, Dawson, Buffalo, Hall, Hamilton, York, Gosper, Phelps, Kearney, Adams, Clay, Fillmore, Furnas, Harlan, Franklin, Webster, Nuckolls, Thayer, Seward, Saline, Jefferson, Antelope, Pierce, Boone, Madison, Stanton, Platte, Colfax, Butler, Knox, Cedar, Wayne, Cuming.
In northern Kansas, Phillips, Smith, Jewell, Rooks, Osborne, Mitchell, Republic, Washington and Cloud counties are included.
The National Weather Service cautions that frost could kill sensitive plants if they are left uncovered. Low temperatures through the night are expected to get down to around freezing — 32º.
