Tornado Watch issued for southeast Nebraska, northeast Kansas Wednesday
As southeast Nebraska and northeast Kansas prepare for forecast severe weather Wednesday evening, the National Weather Service (NWS) has began to issue alerts.

As southeast Nebraska and northeast Kansas prepare for forecast severe weather Wednesday evening, the National Weather Service (NWS) has began to issue alerts.
A Tornado Watch was put in place for the area around the Nebraska-Kansas-Missouri-Iowa borders just before 4 p.m. Wednesday and will stay in effect until 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Counties included in the watch in Nebraska and Kansas include the following:
Nebraska: Burt, Cass, Dodge, Douglas, Gage, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson, Sarpy, Saunders, Thurston and Washington.
Kansas: Atchison, Brown, Clay, Doniphan, Geary, Jackson, Jefferson, Marshall, Nemaha, Pottawatomie, Riley, Shawnee, Wabaunsee and Washington
Storms are expected to develop around 6 p.m. on Wednesday and last into Thursday morning, bringing threats of large hail, wind gusts over 60 miles-per-hour and possible flooding and the possibility of isolated tornadoes.
