LINCOLN, Neb. -- A man reportedly hit a woman's vehicle in Lincoln after he allegedly mistook her for someone else.

The Lincoln Police Department said officers were sent to 33rd St. and W St. around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday for a road rage report.

Officers said they talked to the 34-year-old victim. She reported that she was going west on Holdrege St. from 65th St. at 12:30 a.m. and was hit from behind by a black SUV.

According to authorities, the victim went onto 48th St. and slowed down to 10 mph so the SUV could pass her. The SUV reportedly started to push the victim's vehicle and then came up beside her, sideswiping the vehicle.

Officials said the SUV stopped in front of the victim and the driver got out. The driver was reportedly 59-year-old Daryl Stokebrand.

Police said Stokebrand went up to the victim's vehicle and realized that she was not the person that he thought she was. Stokebrand reportedly apologized to the victim and offered to pay for the damages he caused.

LPD said Stokebrand left the scene but officers stopped him near E Cherrywood Dr. and Cherrywood Dr. The reported estimated damage done to the victim's vehicle was $6,000 while the estimated damage of Stokebrand's vehicle was $3,000.

According to authorities, Stokebrand was arrested for terroristic threats, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, and attempted second-degree assault.
