BEATRICE – A truck hauling dirt overturned in southwest Gage County Tuesday, but the driver was not hurt.

Gage County Sheriff’s deputies say 23-year-old Ryan Ratute of Papillion was driving a semi pulling a side-dump trailer filled with dirt.

As he attempted to turn north from Nebraska Highway 8 onto Nebraska Highway 112, the load in the trailer shifted, causing the trailer to roll onto its side. Ratute was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Highway 112 was shut down for several minutes.  Responding to the scene along with sheriff’s deputies, were the Odell Fire Department, Beatrice Fire and Rescue and the Nebraska State Patrol.

The accident happened at around 10 a.m.
