Firefighters summoned to douse compressor fire, northwest of Beatrice

BEATRICE – Beatrice Rural Firefighters were sent to the Koch Fertilizer plant northwest of Beatrice, early Sunday afternoon. 

A portable air compressor unit inside one of the plant buildings caught fire.  Beatrice Rural Fire Chief Matt Langley says plant personnel had removed the mobile compressor unit from inside a building as firefighters were arriving. 

Langley says foam was used to extinguish the fire, and no other plant property was damaged….and there were no injuries. 

The fire call came in at 12:46 p.m., and Beatrice rural members were back in service, just before 1:40 p.m.
