Debris, trash fire damages Bismark Street property in west Beatrice

Beatrice Firefighters sent to 700 Bismark
BEATRICE – Fire originating in a debris pile did damage to the exterior of a property in west Beatrice, Wednesday.
Beatrice Firefighters were sent to a residence along Bismark Street, south of Riverside Park…at 5:54 p.m. Arriving personnel saw fire in an area of trash that was doing damage to the exterior of the garage and melting some siding….on the west side and northwest corner of the property.
According to emergency dispatch traffic, the cause of the fire may have been a downed power line that was arcing.
Firefighters said there was no extension of the fire inside the home and the flames were extinguished by 6:05 p.m.
A Board of Public Works electric crew was summoned to the scene. Firefighters departed at around 6:30 p.m.
