BEATRICE – Southeast Community College will hold a groundbreaking event for a major addition to the Lincoln Campus, next Wednesday. 

It will mark the construction start of the $32.4 million Sandhills Global Technology Center.  The company, headquartered in Lincoln, made a $5 million gift toward construction of the facility…..the largest donation in the school’s history.

The groundbreaking will be held at 11 a.m., March 22nd...east of the SCC Health Sciences building….with a reception to follow at Course Ground Coffee inside the new SCC Student and Academic Support Center.

SCC President, Dr. Paul Illich said the college is committed to strengthening its communities and directly addressing the ongoing shortage of skilled workers by expanding capacities on the school’s campuses.

Weitz Construction of Lincoln is the general contractor for the Sandhills Global Technology Center and BWBR, of Omaha is the architect.  

The facility is projected to be completed in time for the start of the 2024 Southeast Community College Fall Semester.
