LINCOLN, Neb. -- A man reportedly resisted arrest after he allegedly tried to damage vehicles in Lincoln.

The Lincoln Police Department said officers were sent to the 800 block Pioneers Blvd. around 11:55 p.m. on Feb. 25 for a reported suspicious vehicle.

Officers said a man had drove his truck into the area of the Penitentiary ground and got stuck. The man reportedly got out of his truck and went to the 1400 block of Pioneers Blvd.

According to authorities, the man looked like he was trying to damage the vehicles that were in the cold storage lot. An officer reportedly talked to the man at a service station on 14th St. and Center Park.

Officials said the man was 20-year-old David Truax. Officers reportedly believed Truax may have been under the influence of a controlled substance.

LPD said an officer tried to take Truax into custody and he was cooperative at first but when another officer came up to them, Truax started to resist. The officers were reportedly able to take Truax into custody.

According to authorities, Truax was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation but was cleared and lodged in jail. Truax was cited for resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer.
