Beatrice Police arrest suspect in protection order violation, attack

BEATRICE – Beatrice Police Friday arrested a 36-year-old male after investigating an attack on an ex-girlfriend who had a protection order against the man.
At around 6:30 p.m., police spoke with the alleged victim, saying she had a protection order against the man, but had allowed him a place to stay. Police said the man allegedly attacked the woman, just prior to her giving him a ride to work, Friday afternoon.
She told police she attempted to leave her Market Street home but was blocked from doing so. The victim reported being punched and kicked multiple times, knocked to the ground and choked. Police said the woman was also bitten on the finger when she attempted to push the suspect away.
Police arrested Andrew S. White for alleged violation of a protection order, 3rd degree domestic assault and assault by strangulation. Authorities confirmed there was an active protection order issued February 10th of this year.
Police also said White has one prior conviction for domestic assault in Gage County, from February of 2011.
