BEATRICE - Two weeks after Beatrice played one of its best games of the season, Norris gets revenge in one of the biggest game of the year for either side.
Norris knocked off the Orangemen 42-39 in the Class B-1 subdistrict opener in Crete on Wednesday night.
Beatrice committed six turnovers in the first quarter, but led at the end of the first half 21-15, thanks in part to Tucker Timmerman who knocked down a three pointer and had five points in the second.
Beatrice held Chris Garner Jr. scoreless in the first half, but he quickly scored to begin the third quarter, scoring 10 in the frame. Beatrice went into the fourth up by one. Norris and Beatrice traded blows in the fourth, and Beatrice had the ball with a minute to go and elected to take a post look with Timmerman that was off the mark, leading to the eventual game-winning floater from Chris Garner Jr.
Beatrice was led in scoring by Tucker Timmerman with 16. With the loss Beatrice falls to 11-9 and awaits their district final assignment.
