Beatrice splits Tuesday doubleheader with rival Titans

Beatrice boys and girls basketball both took on Norris in Firth on Tuesday night.

FIRTH - Beatrice boys and girls basketball both took on Norris in Firth on Tuesday night. 

The Lady Orange fell to the Titans 52-30, while the Orangemen rolled to a 55-38 win. 

The Lady Orange got out to a 7-1 lead in the first two minutes of the ball game, but the rest of the first half did not go the way of Beatrice. The Lady Orange 20-5 to end the first half and trailed by eight after the first sixteen minutes. Norris then used their size and zone defense to disrupt much of Beatrice's offensive flow, cruising to the win in the second half. 

Beatrice was led in scoring by Addie Hatcliff with nine, while Grace Kircher led all scorers with 10. With the loss, Beatrice loses their second game in three matchups, falling to 13-3 on the year. 

The Orangemen picked up their tenth win.... They jumped out to an early 8-1 lead and led by four at half, but the second half, was all Betarice, as they outscored Norris 16-8 in the third quarter. Beatrice had paint touches on just about every possession, leading to a combined 31 points from their bigs, Dom Salazar, Tucker Timmerman, and Luke Feist. 

With the win, Beatrice improves to 10-6. The Orangemen were led in scoring by Tucker Timmerman with 19. 

Both teams visit Wahoo on Saturday.
